For some of our services we will have a discussion about what will happen before you start accessing them. this allows both parties to talk about what their requirements are and ensures you get the appropriate service for your needs. You may also need to apply for our training courses.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is the mental health equivalent of physical First Aid.  
Tameside, Oldham and Glossop Mind offers educational and therapeutic pupil services to children and young people through statutory organisations, community agencies and other groups.  
Tameside, Oldham and Glossop Mind have a long history of delivering a variety of training, workshops, and accredited courses such as Mental Health First Aid.   However we are also aware that each organisation has varying needs and sometimes require more bespoke training.
Connect 5 is a three day mental health training programme designed to increase confidence and core skills so that you can be more effective in having conversations about mental health and wellbeing.  
Counselling is for young people that may be struggling to cope with things in their life, such as feeling down, worried or lonely.   Counselling can help you to understand what you are going through and how to cope better.   You will be able to build a trusting relationship with a counsellor, who will help you to talk about your problems and feelings that may be leading you to feeling down in life.

Our Drop-in & Sort-it service is for young people who would like speak to someone confidentially and in a safe space.   They can be used as an offloading space or can be used to find out about what other services are available for you to get support.

Our Drop-in & Sort-it service is for young people who would like to have a safe space to speak to someone and get some help or support. These are one-off 20 minute sessions where you would be with a worker, either on your own, or with your parent or carer.

We have lots of different groups and activities that young people can access to help them feel better, learn something new or just to have fun.    It's also a great chance to make some new friends!   We offer arts & crafts sessions, cooking workshops, building with Lego sessions and loads more to choose from.

Our Problem Solving Service is for young people who need help to deal with a problem or issue in their life.   Sometimes when we are trying to cope with lots of things in our lives it can be difficult to be able to know what to do or how to deal with problems.

Tameside, Oldham and Glossop Mind have a variety of rooms within the centre which external organisations or representatives can hire out for their work or studies. Rooms can be hired as a one-off or via a block booking.   Rooms are also available for free to those holding events aimed at supporting the community and are available within the organisation. To book a free room you should contact our Adult Services management team about this.  
Supporting the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children and young people, within the current climate, can be a demanding and challenging experience. Within our organisation, enabling individuals to be able to effectively support children and young people is regarded as essential.  
As an organisation we recognise that support for children and young people with emotional wellbeing and mental health issues is vital; we also recognise that support for parents and carers within a young persons life can be equally as important.   It can be both distressing and stressful when trying to offer support to young people, to know what the ‘right’ thing to do is and where to go.  
The Hive is a safe space for children & young peoples to come and get involved in activities or access some help for issues or problems in their lives. Young people can also access The Hive if they want to get meet other young people from their local community.

You can come to The Hive every week to play. We have drawing, painting, colouring and sticking and lots of other fun things. You can say hello to other children and we have tasty food you can eat in our cafe.

The Hive is a designated young peoples service which offers a range of activities to support young people who may be struggling with different issues or for those who want to get involved in groups as part of their local community.   We offer a good mood food café, a calendar of different events, and access to therapeutic interventions, all you need to do is call in on The Hive evening and speak to someone.  
Going through a tough time? You’re not alone, we can sort it out TOGETHER. We all feel low and lost at times and every year one in four of us will experience a mental health problem. You may be struggling right now but there is always hope.  
Sometimes it is good to know that you are not alone in what you are going through; our young people's courses help young people to learn ways to cope with different issues with other young people.  
When we are struggling to cope with something it can sometimes be useful to speak to someone, of a similar age, who might be struggling with similar issues; peer support is one of the most important thing to ensuring we stay mentally well.  
Young peoples courses can help you learn more about something you are struggling with and learn ways to cope better, whilst being able to talk to other young people your age who might be struggling too.
