Introduction to New Skills: Level 1 Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care

Level 1 Preparing to Work in Adult Social CareThe course is accredited and nationally recognised, providing a great foundation for working within the Social Care Sector or simply developing your skills, knowledge, and experience within this area.

This course runs over three days and is £170 but we do have some funded places available, so please enquire with our team.


You can expect a fun, interactive, and supportive learning experience covering key topics including:

  • An introduction to the adult social care sector.

  • The values and principles of adult social care.

  • The skills and attitudes needed to work in adult social care.

  • Communication skills in adult social care.

  • The role and responsibilities of the adult social care worker.

Counselling Pathway: Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills

We are excited to introduce our new Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills.


This course is accredited by the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB) which is a nationally recognised awarding body specialising in the field of counselling. It is designed to give learners the underpinning knowledge, skills and competencies to use counselling skills ethically and safely in a variety of contexts and roles.

This qualification is for:

  • Those starting the first level of training as a professional counsellor

  • Those who want to learn counselling skills in other professional or helping roles

  • Those who want to improve their professional and personal relationships as part of personal development.


This qualification could lead to employment or increase employability for those whose role is to support others in e.g. health and social care work, teaching and learning, advocacy and mediation, support and project work, other helping roles.


It provides additional skills for those already in employment may increase opportunities for promotion and advancement.

The course will be available on the following dates:

  • Running for 15 weeks from week commencing Tuesday 15th January, 2019. (Teaching day to be determined, from 13:00 - 20:00)
