Doing something you enjoy is a great way to boost your mood if you are struggling with your wellbeing. This could be anything from going out with friends, doing some exercise or even watching your favourite programme on the TV! Doing something you enjoy releases endorphins (a type of chemical) in our brains which might help improve your mood. It might be difficult to remember the things you like to do when you’re not feeling too good, so writing a list of things you like can be a great resource to refer back to if you need it!

When you help other people, it’s not just good for them, it is also good for you! Think of a time when you have helped someone – How did you feel after?

Helping others can really boost your mood and self-esteem. Try to take the time out of your day to help somebody – even it is only for a few minutes! You might be surprised with how positive you feel afterwards.

We are all different! And we all deal with our problems in different ways. Sometimes you may have days when things don’t go right. This might be anything from falling out with your friends to having a bad hair day!  This might make you feel sad, angry or worried for a short while however you soon get over it and get back to being your everyday self. However sometimes, you can feel a deeper level of sadness that might go on for a longer period of time. It's important to know your own body and the warnings that it might give off to show you’re not happy.

A great way to improve your mental health is to take time away from technology. Technology can be anything from watching your favourite programmes on TV to spending too much time on your phone! We understand that technology is a great way to chat to friends, but why not limit the time you spend on it? Research is showing that spending too much time on technology can be the reason why we may be experiencing problems with our mental health. Take the time that you would have spent on technology and learn a new skill. You might want to begin to learn a new language or learn how to cook!

I need help now!
