Let's end mental health discrimination.

 

A staggering 90% people with mental health problems experience some form of stigma, whether from friends and family, at work, in education or during treatment.  This is a particular issue that employers can’t afford to ignore because 1 in 4 British workers are affected by mental health conditions every year. Mental ill-health is the leading cause of sickness absence in the UK, costing an average of £1,035 per employee per year.

TOG Mind will be joining this group of enlightened organisations and making our pledge today. In order to make this pledge, we have created an action plan that has been approved by Time to Change.  With this plan, we shall demonstrate our commitment to the below principles which include:

Our vision is to enable everyone in our community to achieve better mental health, including our staff and volunteers.  We aim to support our staff and volunteers through:

  • Providing organisational Time to Change support, workshops and regular mental health awareness and anti-stigma events.

  • Promoting the 5 ways to well-being throughout the organisation and encouraging personal resilience building;

  • Regular supervision focusing on both operational and wellbeing needs;

  • Structured personal development and training programmes for all staff and volunteers;

  • Our employee assistance programme.
