Tameside, Oldham and Glossop Mind have a local community hub based in our Topaz café, 216-218 Katherine Street. The hub is a space that local people can use to run their own clubs, attend sessions run by volunteers or just meet with friends for a coffee.
We serve food until 3pm and you can find out more about TOG Mind and the other services we offer.
As a wellbeing Hub we encourage as many agencies that support the local community to utilize our facilities as possible.
Some of the services that have delivered from our space include the following.
DadMatters delivering a course to Dads who have fathered a child
Routes to Work who help individuals in their journey back into employment and Welfare Rights who support individuals with benefits.
As an organisation we also allow volunteers to support the community if they have a particular skills. Our most recent example has been the meditation sessions which run fortnightly by our volunteer Patricia.
Below you will find what activities we have going on.
Meditation can take many forms but it is all about working with our mind. It can help you to gain more self-knowledge, inner peace, focus, grounding, balance and awareness. Meditation can also help you to improve the quality of your everyday life.
Patricia is a Black Belt Shaolin Kung Fu martial artist, has ten years experience in meditation and is a volunteer for TOG Mind. She has developed an exciting programme of sessions to introduce you to meditation.
Sessions have been ongoing since Tuesday 12th June and are running on a fortnightly basis from 2pm. The sessions are free of charge and will work on a drop in basis. Please note you will be asked to register your details.
If you would like to know more, you can call us on 0161 330 9223 and ask about our meditation sessions.
