Life can be a rollercoaster with many ups and downs, we go through different challenges and changes in our lives all the time. Some things can really knock us…
But if you build up skills it can help you to deal with these set-backs much more effectively. Contrary to popular belief, we are not usually born with this ability and these skills can be proactively developed and shared with others. Just like looking after your physical health by keeping fit you can also strengthen your emotional wellbeing and avoid mental health problems.
As part of our new project we offer a range of activities where you can learn about resilience, and how to increase it. This can mean using skills to look after your own mental health in the face of a challenge but also to support and share your knowledge with others. Our aim is to develop resilience across the whole community.
You will learn how to best support yourself as well as others. You will for example learn about self-awareness, self-esteem, emotional intelligence, wellbeing activities and other practical tips for how to boost resilience. In these workshops you will not only increase your knowledge, but also get to experience some helpful, enjoyable exercises for your wellbeing.
We will offer sessions in our Wellbeing Centre in Ashton throughout the year. We are also able to deliver free sessions at your venue of up to 2.5 hours for groups of 7+ people.
People who are keen to get involved further can also become important Community Resilience Ambassadors who will continue to spread awareness about resilience as well as share ways to improve wellbeing in their community in everyday life.
